How can I top up an account if it runs out of credits?

What happens when you run out of checks?
When your account has no checks left, your monitors stop checking until your checks refill or you add more. Your monitors aren't paused or deleted, and you can still create and edit them. Checks that were missed while you had no checks left aren't run afterwards.
Your monthly checks refill every 30 days. See When do credits/checks refill occur?
How you get more checks depends on your plan. Emails about checks running low or running out recommend a plan based on usage, show its price and have a single Upgrade button. If your usage exceeds every available plan, the email prompts you to contact Sales instead.
Personal plans
On a Personal or Free plan, you have two options:
Buy Pay as you Go checks. These are a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Unlike your monthly checks, they don't expire: any you don't use carry over to the next month and stay on your account if you change plans. If you're on the Free plan, buying them moves you to the Pay as you Go plan.
Upgrade your plan. If you regularly run out of checks, a larger plan is usually better value than buying checks one at a time.
To do either, click Upgrade on your dashboard, or the button in the out-of-checks message. This opens the subscription page with a plan suggested based on your monitors and how many checks they use. Nothing is purchased until you confirm.
In the personal "You ran out of checks!" email, Upgrade opens the subscription page. If you're eligible for a free trial, the email shows Start your free trial instead.
Business plans
Pay as you Go checks aren't available on Business plans. If your workspace is running out of checks, upgrade to a larger plan:
Admins can upgrade the plan themselves from the dashboard by clicking Upgrade or View Plans. See How can I upgrade or downgrade subscriptions?
If your plan is managed by an account manager or paid by invoice, contact your account manager and we'll take care of the upgrade for you.
The workspace "You ran out of checks" and "Checks running out" emails recommend Business plans only, sized using that workspace's own usage. Their Upgrade button opens Account → Workspaces. Sales is copied on every workspace "Checks running out" email, so you may receive a Sales follow-up.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do unused checks roll over?
Monthly checks from your plan don't roll over. They're replaced with your new allowance each month. Pay as you Go checks do roll over until you use them. See Do credits roll over to the next month?
Can I move checks from one workspace to another?
No. Each workspace has its own checks, and they can't be moved between workspaces. To change how many checks a workspace has, change the size of its plan. See Is it possible to distribute monthly checks across workspaces?
How can I make my checks last longer?
Lower the check frequency of monitors that don't need frequent checks, use Advanced Scheduling to check only during the hours you care about, or pause monitors you no longer need.
