Claude MCP
What is the Visualping MCP?
The Visualping MCP (Model Context Protocol) connects Claude or ChatGPT to your Visualping account. It allows users to create, manage, and review webpage monitors through natural language.
Setting Up the Connection
Sign in to Claude.ai (any plan).
Go to Settings → Integrations (or the tools panel) and search for Visualping.
Click Connect and authorize access with your Visualping credentials.
Start a new chat and test the connection by asking: "Show me all my active Visualping monitors."
Example Prompts
Creating monitors
"Watch nike.com/en-us/t/air-max-90 and alert me when size 10 shows back in stock."
"Monitor the Anthropic careers page for new job postings, check every 6 hours."
"Set up a daily check on our competitor's pricing page and only alert me if prices drop."
Managing monitors
"Show me all my active monitors."
"Pause the monitor for example.com until further notice."
"Run an immediate check on all monitors tagged 'competitors'."
"Update the interval on my Amazon monitor to every 30 minutes."
Reviewing changes
"Show me my change timeline from this week."
"Flag the most recent change on the Nike monitor as important."
"Hide any changes from this weekend — those were expected."
Account
"How many monitors do I have left on my plan?"
"What workspace am I in and what plan am I on?"
Troubleshooting
Auth / connection errors
Claude returns an authentication error when calling any Visualping tool.
Fix: Go to Claude.ai → Settings → Integrations, disconnect Visualping, then reconnect and re-authorize. The session token may have expired.
Interval rejected when creating a monitor
Error when requesting a short interval (e.g. every 5 minutes).
Fix: Your plan doesn't support that interval. Use 30, 60, or 1440 for free or lower-tier accounts. Upgrade your Visualping plan to access faster check frequencies.
workspace_id errors on a business account
Tool calls fail with a workspace-related error even though the MCP is connected.
Fix: Ask Claude: "Check my Visualping account details." This triggers describe_user, which fetches the workspace ID required for business accounts.
run_monitor fails
Triggering an immediate check returns an error.
Fix: Only active monitors can be run on demand. Ask Claude to list your monitors and confirm the monitor's status is active before retrying.
No changes appearing in the timeline
The monitor is active but the timeline is empty or not updating.
Fix: Ask Claude to run an immediate check on the monitor. If the timeline remains empty after a few minutes, the target page may require login or JavaScript rendering. Configure pre-actions in the Visualping dashboard to handle this.
Diagnostic Prompt Sequence
If something isn't working, run through these steps in order:
"What is my Visualping account type and plan?" — confirms connection and fetches workspace info
"Show me all monitors, both active and inactive." — verifies monitors exist and checks their status
"Run an immediate check on monitor ID [id]." — forces a check outside the schedule
"Show me the change timeline." — confirms changes are being detected
If any step returns an error, share the exact error message in the chat — Claude can diagnose it from there.
What the MCP Cannot Do
The following require the Visualping dashboard directly:
Configure crop areas or visual regions
Set up pre-actions (login flows, cookie dismissal, etc.)
Manage email notification settings
Configure third-party integrations (Slack, Zapier, webhooks)
Recover deleted monitors
