How to get an alert if website errors

When monitoring a webpage, there are cases when you want to get an alert if the website results in an error or if the site blocks our crawler due to bot detection. This can be useful if you monitor your website for regression, ensure the website is active, ignore bot-detection changes, and more.

You can enable the "Alert on Website Error" option by selecting it in the Adjustments section of monitor settings. For monitors that have never had error alerting configured, error alerts are now applied by default after consecutive failures based on the check interval. For example, a monitor that checks every 5 minutes alerts after 5 consecutive failures, while a daily monitor alerts after 3 consecutive failures. If you explicitly turn this option off, error alerts remain off.

When creating a new monitor, choosing the default error alerting option now correctly saves the monitor with default error alerts enabled.
